I still find rascism a difficult concept to grasp.
It’s all based on perspective.
I like a story Dave Chappelle told about a great uncle or something,who was so lightskinned he could easily pass for white.
Soon after Martin Luther King’s assassination,he took his seat in the black-designated spot on the bus. He overheard people getting angry,and he realized they were referring to him. They thought he was white,and that it was in bad taste to sit in a black designated seat. He was able to calm them down by saying that he was supportive of them and was sitting here in solidarity.
He was blind and had no idea what the people talking to him looked like.
I grew up with friends of several ethnicities,and I watched shows like Power Rangers that showed everyone as equal regardless of ethnicity or skin color.
I can understand xenophobia,but in the present,with tv and internet there’s few barriers left. We can easily see everyone.
