The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

This might be predictable coming from me but I always found the Mystery Dungeon music to be a lot more memorable. Granted, Mystery Dungeon is kind of my big thing, but still. The few tracks from the main games that I really remember are a few battle tracks and Ecruteak (the soothingest of soothing music).

If I remember right, the composer of PMD’s tracks was someone from Beatmania, which probably explains why they’ve got such a catch to them.

I should really go back and play some of the PMD titles. I remember trying to play Blue rescue team for the DS and being turned off by the food system. But I’ve heard some good things about the newer ones, so it might be time to try to jump back into it.

Eh… Gates to Infinity isn’t exactly that great, for the most part. I actually wrote a pretty long, in-depth review of what its problems are, and honestly I really just would not recommend picking it up, at least right now. It’s not worth the money at the moment and there’s better PMD games worth your time.

If you want to get back into the series, try picking up Explorers of Sky. Far and away it’s considered to be the definitive game in the franchise, even now that Gates has been out.

The Belly system really isn’t that big of a deal, as long as you plan right. Just make sure you always bring two, maybe three Apples and you’ll be right as rain. If you don’t have any in storage, see if you can buy some.

The big draw of Mystery Dungeon (and roguelikes in general) is the fact that they require a lot of methodical thought and strategy. They aren’t outright strategy games, but nothing makes a move until you do, so you’ve got the freedom to just sit in place and debate over what your next move should be. Is this enemy worth fighting, or will I just get my butt kicked? Do I have enough time and Belly left to wander around on this floor and see what I might find? Am I skilled enough yet to really take this escort mission and see it through to the end?

So Nintendo announcent that 3DS gameboy color virtual console games are gonna have wireless connection.

Does this mean well see Red/Blue Gold/Silver released in the future? Dang that would be so cool.

Maybe, maybe not. It seems like a bit of a pointless suggestion to add them, given that you can’t trade them over to any game past Gen 3, and FRLG and HGSS were made to rectify that in the first place.

genwunners aren’t worth the time lol

‘Sides, now that I think about it it’d be a futile effort anyway; RBY and GSC used a completely different calculation set for stuff like stats, EVs, shininess and such (which is why they couldn’t trade over to RSE). There’d be no reason to release them they way they are, unless they were really desperate enough to pull such a blatant cash-grab.

I’m more wondering about DLC. Chunsoft made DLC for Gates to Infinity, and despite the fact that it was technically all optional content, it was also all really stupid. A dungeon full of money and sleeping-but-powerful-enemies… for two dollars. A set of dungeons that contained each playable character, so you could recruit the ones you didn’t pick… and each dungeon was a separate buy and cost two dollars each.

I really hope Gamefreak and XY don’t do the same thing.

Thanks, though I don’t know who drew it. Found it on Ponibooru a long time ago.

Yeah, that’s kind of unfortunate. If only ZUN owned ponies… While fanarts and music are unaffected, its the games that Hasbro seems to be allergic to. Though, I think MLP Online was C&Ded because they were using the official MLP logo and were asking for huge donations. Fighting is Magic, could have something to do with the EVO. As soon as they put it on EVO, I knew something bad was gonna happen. The Dev team sort of made it look like they were advertising the game as their own IP. There was no possible way Hasbro was gonna let that slide.
So far, only 2 major projects have ever received C&D from Hasbro. The rest were either sabotaged or abandoned(happened to numerous projects in the past, before the C&D, that were most likely too ambitious to take foot).

Pretty much, only Pony Fantasy 6, which was basically just a re-skin of FF6, was made into reality.
