So logically the reverse should be true and the tag should not be applied if female, trans female, or any related tag is already being used for the image.

Please report that when you see it and we will look into it. Maybe a simple tag fix is all that’s needed. Maybe we have a tag vandal who needs to be dealt with. Maybe its something in-between. But unless you report it, odds are no one on staff has noticed it, or you’d already see people fixing it.

You have to point at an image when you ask that question. But, in general, if by ‘the tag’ you mean
dickgirl, that implies futa and is used on images with female. If by ‘the tag’ you mean futa then you are right.However - there are images with
futa and female and trans female, etc, because there’s more than one character in the image.So - if you see an image that looks like it is not tagged properly, please report it for Rule #2 and in the text field mention that the problem is that one of those tags is not being used properly.
Someone who specializes in these tags will then look at the image, and decide which set of tags is most appropriate, consulting with the original artist or commissioner if appropriate.

Dickgirl … does not have any unsavory baggage attached to it.
I thought that was the more offensive term. But, maybe that’s changed. I’m not up to speed on what all slang has been reclaimed by groups they apply to.
Regardless, on Derpibooru, it has a unique definition that means it should be used in addition to the “futa” tag, if it correctly applies to what’s in the image. (Other “futa-but-more-specific” tags: full package futa, herm)

I have one such report that’s been open for 7 days. Tags on the reported image were changed by a moderator and locked 6 days ago, but the report is still open (and I am OK with that because there may indeed be more than the one image involved).
Unfortunately, I am confused by the end state of the tags, where “trans female” was applied and “futa” was removed on a solo image - the tag description for “futa” does not define anything incompatible with being trans, only that there is a penis attached to a feminine-appearing body. But, that’s getting off the topic of this thread and I haven’t yet searched for prior discussions about the matter.

I’m afraid that’s in an area that I am not able to help you. It’s very specialized area in tagging, and each image needs to be looked at, case-by-case.

Basically, the futa tag description says not to use female or any tags that imply female with it, which then implies that the character present is not female.

This Discussion is a bit older but found it some Minutes ago and wanted to add some Details.
The Definition is alwasy a Problem on many websites, special if the most use the japanese Definition.
The Word “Futa” is the short Version of the japanese Word “Futanari”, what mean “(to be of) two kinds” and is the Japanese Version of a Hermaphrodite, a usual Female with female and male Genitals.

The biggest Problem is the Confusion some have if they call a Dickgirl or Shemale an Futanari, even none of them have female Genitals.
Usual the two kinds Part will be placed because it is a upper body of a female and a lower of a Male.
In the Search it is often a Problem to find a special gender because it is often so mixed up.
So if someone want just a Hermaphrodite in the Search, they have to look for Full Package Futa because Futa alone is to general.

In my experience, these terms aren’t used to mean realism-adjacent depictions of trans bodies in different states of physical transitioning. They’re sometimes used as slurs to demean trans identities and trans people, but when it comes to art, people who want to see trans bodies don’t search with these terms, and people who search with these terms mostly don’t want to see trans bodies.

Trans in my Understanding mean Transfer, mean a Change from one Gender to anoter by an Operation.
There are natural born Persons with an different Gender.
There are estimated 0,022-0.05% or 1 of 4500-5500 of the Newborns, who are “Births with ambiguous Genitals” and they are still sorted in as People with a genetic Defect, mean they see it as Disorder/Illness and many was surgically or hormonally altered to create more “socially acceptable Gender”.
Today it is different and the Person has the right to choose what Gender they want, after they are older.
The Figures on this Page and other, who are Herm, D-Girl, C-Boy or another Gender are usual natural in that Form.

For a TL;DR from below: “futa” is the “main” go-to tag on derpi for the female body with a cock. Has the widest use around because it’s a very well known term. Dickgirl is strictly supposed to be used on images with dicked females but [visibly] no pussy. Futa doesn’t and didn’t have baggage aside from some weird whiners on the internet who want to make it so for some bizarre reason I’ll never understand. This is more-or-less in line with every other site with decent tagging practices.

The definitions for the tags we have already exist. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. These definitions are in place for matter-of-fact tagging. Situational tagging like trans characters just need the additional trans tag. You also forgot about “busty boy” (guy with boobs, not moobs).

You’re right in that they don’t. They never should have. The fact that there are those who think the fantasy should conform to reality is how we got into tagging messes in the first place.
Frankly speaking, the only reason anything is an insult is because someone is taking offence to it. None of these terms are offensive in any way on their own.

The term for those born like that is “intersex”. That tag exists here already and it’s the “master”(?) tag for all these terms. Dickgirl, male herm, herm, futa, busty boy, cuntboy and others already imply that tag.
