Drako:
you bronies have a lot to learn about love
Scoots understands that the wonderbolts is Dashie’s passion
Dash didn’t forget her new sister
The two of them have kept in contact the whole time
I delivered the letters myself
Pinkie:
Hey!
grabs Drako
Why didn’t she send me any letters?
Drako:
As Dash’es friend I’m not permitted to tell you
I made an oath
Maybe you should ask her yourself
Pinkie:
storms off

^and Scootaloo would be in her normal creepy-obsessed stalker self. I don’t see the problem here…

^ I dunno… If they HAD switched Pinkie for Scootaloo, it would’ve crossed the boundary between hero-worship and creepy stalker… whereas Pinkie was just “being Pinkie”.

Forever scootalone…

Beside that, it was a just a single week. She hardly abandoned that chicken forever. However, the lack of Scootaloo in that episode was something to note. She could have been there when they said goodbye or something like that. Heck, they could have easily replaced Pinkie with Scootaloo, their behaviour pattern in that episode was easily the same. Now it is also entirely possible that the episodes were not broadcasted in chronological order, so there’s that.

(Of course it is also possible that Rainbow Dash had gotten bored of Scootaloo’s antics in between episodes and dropped her back into her coop…)

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

also “right after”? how do you know that? do you really think the episodes happen right when the previous one ends?
