First, We would like to thank everyone for voicing their opinion in this thread.
 
We feel that at this time it would be best to close this thread. As the conversation has begun to move past its intended purpose, and each side has adequately presented their thoughts and reasoning, there is nothing new to add to the discussion that would not be repeating the same discussions already held.
 
As for responses to the trial run of the standardized tag names: We have yet to properly start the trial. A couple of tags have switched over, but we have put that switch on pause for the time being. When the time comes that we do properly begin the trial, you can voice an opinion on it in the General tag discussion thread.
 
As for the current discussions on possible tag functionality like grouping, categories, etc. If you have an idea for possible changes to tagging structure, please make a post describing your idea and reasons for it in the Feature Suggestions and Discussion thread. Though please remember that the feature discussion thread and the General tag discussion thread are not the place for continued discussion on the breast tag topic itself.

That is indeed the point. But the thread got unnecessarily long because it devolved into a debate of ideals. So, the thread is kept open for two reason;

Looking into it. It seems it’s supposed to be images of Nightshade. Just that the Shadowbolt leader wasn’t named 4 years ago so the artist gave her that name. [Or the artist just couldn’t find the name, I don’t know]
 
So I went ahead and added the “Nightshade” tag. Not sure what to do with the “cold wisp” tag. Either alias it into Nightshade, remove it, or leave it alone. Will let a mod decide on that.

Since all the art is by one artist, it’s possible this is actually an OC…

The standardization of the “busty X” tags reminded me that a few of the futa pun tags were missed back when they were standardized. Here’s a list of the ones I’ve noticed:
 
sonata dick -> futa sonata dusk  
sonata dong -> futa sonata dusk  
aria dong -> futa aria blaze  
adongio -> futa adagio dazzle

As I have said to you several times now, the fact that you are aware of who the artists are in these cases to the point where you will post links to the source material, yet refuse to tag those artists, says far more about you than the uploaders of these images.

also i see both apple bloom and applejack got the busty apple bloom and busty applejack as tag instead of apple bloomed and applerack which is in the alias atm.

oh i dunno how long the ‘‘test’’ gonna last (if a test is going on) but i think many wants the pun as the main tag that shows up when searching while the Busty “character name” is in the alias.
 
would have been much easier to keep it that way and it would (at least it think) cut down on the back and forth discussion thats going on now. (and possibly more in the future)

Shouldn’t this be it’s own thread? Proposing something to categorize tags to make search easier would affect the focus of this thread, but also greatly widens its scope… I mean no one is going to come to the tagging forum and think the thread titled “[NSFW][PROPOSAL] Standardizing the Character-Breast Tags” is where the discussion of some sort of tag searching/categorization scheme would be taking place.

I’ve been thinking about other solutions as well, but most approaches would probably make things just much more complicated.
 
Maybe a tag wiki (similar to tags having descriptions) where you could search not just for tags, but also see related tags and search for specific words in their description. (Like I’d be able to search for ‘breasts’ and could find the busty*/pun tags.)  
Or just a function where you could maybe have another search field on the ‘tags’ page which searches tag descriptions instead of tags themselves.

1 - Please clarify.  
2 - No. my opinion is already that these tags should be kept, and such a system would solve our problems of fiding such tags.  
3 - None.

Just to be clear: We are not yet setting this alias. As mentioned before, I’d like to see more suggestions about what we can further do to solve this problem, since a cosmetic change is not an adequate solution.

It’s still not the worst thing ever that ever happens on site. A tag change isn’t going to ruin the site for people.
 
Mods asked us to give our opinion and we did. That’s it. We don’t have to argue or counter other people’s opinions. This isn’t a debate.
 
We’re lucky that the mods even asked us. Sites like Google and Facebook change on a whim and see how people react. They could’ve gone through that route!

What if we organize the Tags by their main aliases, so that “raritits” for exemple would be organized in the list as if it where “busty rarity”, and we could still read the pun on the tag if the uploader used it.
 
or have pun appear in the tag on the image only, so you search for busty rarity but the tag displays “busty rarity (raritits)”
