Duck - If report count was a score, he'd have the biggest score
Pixel Perfection - I still call her Lightning Bolt
Silly Pony - Celebrated the 13th anniversary of MLP:FIM, and 40 years of MLP!
Shimmering Smile - Celebrated the 10th anniversary of Equestria Girls!
Lunar Supporter - Helped forge New Lunar Republic's freedom in the face of the Solar Empire's oppressive tyrannical regime (April Fools 2023).
Roseluck - Had their OC in the 2023 Derpibooru Collab.
Flower Trio - Helped others get their OC into the 2023 Derpibooru Collab.
King Sombra - Celebrated the 10th anniversary of The Crystal Empire!
A Lovely Nightmare Night - Celebrated the 12th anniversary of MLP:FIM!
Princess of Love - Extra special version for those who participated in the Canterlot Wedding 10th anniversary event by contributing art.

I like today’s setup a lot better than yesterday’s, it’s clean and streamlined and has the downvote button back. Excellent work.

Rulesbreaking is exactly what I meant; I have trouble believing that people who think fake screencap blackmail is a r0xx0r idea could get two sentences in without committing a sex crime on Rule Zero.

Seems like I’m a bit late for the initial discussion, but I must say that the changes very similar to those below (total instead of number yay/neight’s) feel wastly supperior. In my opinion at least.
full
The changes look like they give acess to all information people want as well as minimizing the space needed. The up/down arrow is a bit smaller, but I didn’t feel any added difficulty voting so I don’t anything wrong there either.
Merging up and down votes into a total shouldn’t be a problem either as far as I see it. You can most of the time see the image roughly anyway. The only problem I can think of would be if there was a spoilered image with both huge up and downs and you would be a person that would like to see it, but then you could most likely judge if you want to see it by the amount of faves and comments.
snip
Also thanks a lot to mods/admins/hosts/whatever for interacting with the site community and listening and stuff. It makes the site feel great even when you filter 20-30% of it.

(Fun fact: most people filter 20-30% of the site by default…)

The splitting of vote display into up/down counters as opposed to a unified score measure is something we’re very keen to try out and we’ll be pushing that out to a subset of the userbase to see how people like it in the coming days.

I see that the neigh button err arrow has been resored on thumbs, along with some cosmetic touchups. also noticed that submission per hour has gone back up. (it had dropped off during parts of the upgrade)

I won’t say much about the neight button as most I would say has already been said. I will simply state that I like that it’s back.

Indeed not. We can’t somehow magically cross-reference posters on 4chan with users here at derpibooru any better than anyone else could just by reading what they write and looking for similarities.

The only reason for their banning here would be breaking the rules. Besides, its not like the admins can know which one said shit about the site and which one is really trying to make a discussion here. They dont have access to the IPs on 4chan.

No, it’s pretty much because of what I mentioned. They think coming here is like talking to a brick wall and that their opinions will be drowned in those of people they think cater to artists too much and SJWs that will censor them at every opportunity.

Someone made a post on /mlp/ pretending to be Clover (a post in which “clover” says a lot of shit), they took a screencap, and now they want to send it to him to get some unknown guy unbanned, using the picture as blackmail material.

As a coincidence, it was born from a /mlp/ thread against derpibooru mods getting of the neigh button.

At any rate, we experiment, we make changes, and we listen to feedback. On more than one occasion we’ve conducted site-wide polls to try and get feedback on what we’re doing and have taken action based on this feedback, even when it wasn’t what we personally had hoped for or wanted to do. We have been known to revert changes when they proved unpopular or didn’t have the effect we intended. Part of this change is an experiment to see whether or not it is effective at discouraging people from downvoting content they should be filtering (because as TSP observed, we do have a significantly sized group of users who mass-downvote content purely on the grounds that they hate a particular character or similar) - the intention of the voting system is that it is a measure of the quality of the content, not how many people hate a ship, and we want to see if this causes the system to be used in the way we had intended rather than in a way we consider an abuse of the design. We’ll get data and feedback and see if this actually works out or not.

Gotta love how they got all hostile when Clover the Clever showed up.

Dunno if it is really him tho. But still, they totally hate this site. Heh.

@Carcer

Yeah, i remember the whole “op is a faggot” drama we had about that, and you people ended fixing it so both sides could be ok with it, somewhat. Or when you made that poll to define “toys and male fluids” tag and such and you asked the community about it.

Regarding /mlp/… well, they wont listen at all.

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

It's a cartoon show!
The inclusion of the the yay/neigh buttons on thumbnails made for fast and efficient browsing of images on Derpibooru. That said I do not agree with the decision to remove neigh button and only leave the up fave/vote behind. I know you wish to discourage mass downvoting but I think it’s a bit of a double standard to leave the other button present on thumbnails.

However I think people are being a bit melodramatic with the accusations of being a hugbox when the ability to downvote images is still present albeit you have to click on the thumbnail.

All in all I would have to say that this is a step backwards for the site.

@Background Pony
You had to click on the image in order to vote on Ponibooru.

/mlp/ probably believes we love PT because we come down on people who’ve attacked her using transphobic slurs, but that’s only because we don’t like anyone attacking anyone with transphobic slurs, or racial slurs, or homophobic slurs, or anything else. Judgement of PT for her personal qualities is a different matter.

/mlp/ probably believes we love SJWs because we don’t like anyone attacking anyone with transphobic slurs, or racial slurs, or etc. and because when I’m active I’ve been pretty up front about thinking that social justice is an important thing (the fact that I believe the discussion is dominated by vocal reactionary extremists on both sides resulting in complete polarisation of opinion and I spent most of my effort trying to explain one side to the other in the hopes that more moderates might actually be able to understand the subject and have rational debate is probably lost on them).

But that doesn’t really have anything to do with this change.

Duck - Some ugly ducklings stay that way

Pretty much this. The idea of a booru rating system getting skewed in order to spare the artists’ feelings is pretty outlandish. If they only want positive feedback, there’s always the giant hugbox called DeviantArt. Artists who think downvotes equal getting bullied need to grow up.

If you do not specify a field to search over, the search engine will search for posts with a body that is similar to the query's word stems. For example, posts containing the words winged humanization, wings, and spread wings would all be found by a search for wing, but sewing would not be.
