Prog rock pony
I haven't decided exactly what to draw yet. I'm tempted to just upload a picture of Sombra asking us "remember when I was the worst villain in MLP?" (but now The Storm King, The Pony of Shadows, and every EqG villain apart from the Dazzlings are worse) but that's just asking to start shit (but at least I would have drawn something instead of just doing an image macro).

**If anyone wants to know how to make your own crystal textures the easy way (assuming you have GIMP installed):**
1. Set the background color to a mid grey color like #7f7f7f for the highest color variation.
1. Open the "Mosaic" filter (under Filters > "Distorts"). Leave the tile geometry as Hexagons.
2. Set the Tile size to somewhere around 50-70 **Update:** this depends on the image size. If it's something high like 3840x2160, use a larger size like 120.
3. Set the Tile neatness to somewhere around 0.400-0.600
4. Set the color variation to the max value.
5. To get rid of the lines, set the Tile height to the minimum value and the joints and light color to whatever will blend in with the background (if the background color is white, make the joint and light color white), then use the "Median Blur" filter (under Filters > "Blur").

**To apply these onto a pony:**
1. Create a new file (or just use the file with the crystal texture or the pony you want to crystalize) and insert the pony you want to crystalize and the texture you just created. The texture should be the top layer.
2. Use the selection tool to select the entire area outside of your pony, then switch to the layer with the crystal texture and press delete. This removes the background.
3. Break up the texture into separate layers for the eyes, the mane, and the rest of the body. **This step is optional** though the eyes should **NOT** be crystalized.
4. Set the opacity of the top layer (the texture) to 15% for the body, around 5-15% for the mane, and 0% for the eyes.
5. You could also use the "Colorize" tool (under Colors) to change the color of the crystals so it could better blend with darker ponies, but this is optional.

If you're using anything else, I can't help you. But you can probably figure something out or just use [@Melisareb](/forums/art/topics/king-sombra-the-crystal-empire-10th-anniversary-art-event?post_id=5312413#post_5312413)'s texture.
Reason: just realized something
