What I mean by this is that I’m taking programming right now and a rookie, but fuck me programming and shit isn’t nearly as easy as movies seem to make it out to be; movies make programming out to be like you’re neo wearing a black trench coat and fighting agents is not how this shit works. You can’t just go “there is no spoon” and break into a archive in seconds then download a entire archive and then upload the entire archive within seconds as well. Anyone here that claims it’s that easy is utterly and completely full of it. Sure you can totally break a company’s server security, but we’re talking anywhere from a couple hours to a couple days to pull off. If a server has no security sure, but cloudflare has dedicated network security professionals who make sure that their shit isn’t easy to break into. Phil and co. are full of shit. The other thing to keep in mind is cloudflare’s encryption; there is no fucking way that a “hacker” broke through server security, downloaded 1.5gb archive, broke the encryption and uploaded it in seconds. The people saying that it’s “possible” to do all that in mere seconds nuh-uh; Phil’s full of it.

Lets not forget how just quite how often Zoe Quin has claimed to be hacked this very week alone, from skype to her youtube account she’s got to have been more targeted by hackers then anyone on earth. Also the worst at putting up a password if you ask me :D
 
I’m just glad some developers are starting to come out and call bullshit where it’s due, Tweet one was a subtle jab at Quin and Co and the rest were reminders that all this haxxing and doxxing they claim was going around, some people who don’t give a flying shit about the game’s industry as a whole would have reported on it due to the technical aspects.

Don’t forget how there’s no evidence of her accounts being hacked or any evidence of cloudflare being compromised.

IF the site was hacked, it had nothing to do with Cloudflare. Stop pushing that angle. Bypassing Cloudflare is as simple as accessing the FTP of the site, finding a random image hotlinked by one of its users and trying out the IP, or just knowing the IP from before they subscribed to Cloudflare.
 
Let me remind everyone here that when Ponibooru moved to Cloudflare there were plenty of known ways to bypass it and access Ponibooru directly.
