It was the first gen where I decided to carry over teams. And having only new mons before the post game is great for getting people to use them, instead of Iconic Kanto Mon #78 for the tenth game in a row.

Gen 5 was pretty much a soft reboot of the franchise, hence why we got 151 brand new mons in one gens. The only time we might see that happen again if the series starts to decline.
I find this funny, how did Gen 5 went from the most bashed generation to being the most loved generation?
People had a knee-jerk reaction to being forced into only using the newest (at the time) Pokemon, but later realized that Gen5 had probably the best story out of any game.

Now I remember. It was because the old pokemon were in the post games.
