All pieces of nature had an incarnation of immense power, that would regularly ascend from one of their children, in order to renew the presence of their element and conduct a long reign where they would watch over the world, then be called away and leave their might to wane, until the next of their children takes up the mantle.
The next time of the Elders is coming up in the cycle, and so the Elder's gift manifests in their children again, urging them to begin a journey and fully master their power, claiming their element fully and ascending into an elder dragon."
