The first person to start throwing insults is clearly the one running out of valid points.
 
Here’s a few. Starlight is a main character, Twilight is still the head of the franchise, the show is starting to focus on minor characters a little more, this means the main cast aren’t going to appear as much as they used to, they’re still going to appear in the majority of episodes.
 
And if any of that upsets you it’s not my job to convince you otherwise.

You’re just trying to shift the focus off of Starlight being too focused on in the show, onto on of the actual characters who is supposed to be the main characters.

But we weren’t talking about that. We were discussing whether Starlight had more focus that anyone else this season, specifically Twilight, and whether Twilight was still the main character. The moment he started losing he instantly shifted the context of the discussion in order to make me look bad, claimed I was biased against the mane six, didn’t answer the original point, and insulted me.
 
I mean, what’s the point in debating someone like that?

Okay for real. Thats not even an argument, its just saying that what someone else is saying is dumb in hopes that other people will blindly agree with you. As for this convo, i have to agree with @chubbyninja89 in that Starlight has A LOT of focus. Not even talking about season 7, shes had at least a dozen since her reformation, and has had 4 two-parters where she has at least shared lead with the mane six or another group (Trixie, thorax, and discord), IN A ROW. When you think about it, if the season 7 finale is about the mane 6 again, it will be the first two-parter in 3 seasons (5, 6 and 7) that hasnt been either with or about Starlight, A SIDE CHARACTER. Even if youre the biggest Starlight fanboy on earth, you cant deny the fact that Starlight has had way too much focus for not even being a main character

Starlight isn’t one of the main main characters, so she shouldn’t be focused on so freaking much. Especially when she never seems to learn her lessons.
 
And just because you don’t like my valid point about Pinkie being one of the Mane 6 doesn’t make it any less valid of a point.

Wait, rock solid friendship? If that’s the standard for ‘her’ episode, Twilight’s also had six. And she’ll still be in the lead when ‘zeppelin’ airs.

Actually, she’s been in 6 episodes that more or less focused around her and what she was doing. And yes, Rock Solid Friendship and To Change a Changeling count.

I don’t want to do the screen time argument again, but Starlight has been the main character of two episodes this season, where as Twilight has had… four I think, with a fifth coming up?

I don’t know what you’re talking about, with all the Starlight focused episodes lately, I’d have to disagree with the idea that the show isn’t getting more focus on Starlight.

Actually Twilight feels like the main character again, after a couple of seasons of feeling like just another cast member. It’s nice to see her get her groove back, I’ve missed her.

My impression is that the merchandise isn’t particularly Twilight focused,  
but rather spread out over the mane six OR with no focus (ponies everywhere).

Honestly, if there was even 1.5x as many counts of S.G. as there turned out, I might not have been able to do this as a gif… at least, not without going beyond site size upload limits, or making the gif dimensions terribly small.
