Cover the grotesque injury with something painted to look natural so a person can stand to look at the injured.
How many of us are like Derpy or Fizzlepop in this image, ashamed of our weaknesses, or what we perceive as such, to the point that we hide them from everyone else? And, all the while, the one we talk to is hiding perceived weaknesses of his or her own.
I suppose the one thing that makes this sad is the fact that they’re hiding their disabilities, their weaknesses, from each other. Which, come to think of it, makes it a reflection on how we like to look to others in reality.
