They all seemed to just use each other as a way to achieve their goals. It was convenient to team up because they would have a better chance to reach their goals than they would on their own. There were the beginning embers of a friendship or at least comraderie that looked to be developing but these three never nurtured it. They didn’t seem to accept it or try to make it grow and I think that’s why they never became anything more than co-beneficial partners in crime to each other.

No because, on some level, they still beeded each other. They realized that they couldn’t beat equestria on their own. Even if they weren’t on great terms with one another, they’re not dumb enough to forsake the idea of strength in numbers. Look what happened to Sombra when he went off on his own.

Villains are oftentimes cowards, and selfish. Sure they got along a li’l bit, but they’d still backstab each other to get what they want, like when Cozy almost tricked them into “testing” Discord’s magic on her.
 
Still, I can accept villains acting like villains.

Sometimes I think it would have been nice if the villains had at least made friends among themselves. Then when they knew what the Princesses and Discord were going to do, they could have said “Do as you will. Our friendship stands.” and faced thier punishment with dignity, instead of cowardice and rage.
 
Also, it would have denied Discord the satisfaction of imprisoning them “together forever”.

They broke out, though. I don’t think the main cast want these end of the world bad guys on the loose every few months or so. At least as statues, these three can be monitored

Qualities or not, it was still their choice to do what they did. They didn’t act on those redeeming qualities but kept going down a path of destruction. I don’t think a smile, a hug and an offer of friendship was going to stop these three. Maybe spending a while as statues may make them think otherwise. Probably not though, especially for a psycho like Cozy and a nut like Chrysalis. If anything, it might make those two angrier. Tirek just seems like the typical power hungry bad guy, though, so maybe there’s a chance for him.

Tirek & Cozy were already there, and considering they escaped (twice for Tirek) that wouldn’t be much closure for them.
 
Though, Discord did escape his stone prison eventually too, I guess, showing even that isn’t infallible.

Apparently, otherwise there still wouldn’t be debate or drama over it. I can understand people’s objections to it, but we can’t reform every villain, and killing them might be too far.

Also, is anyone else still against the idea of turning Cozy Glow, Tirek and Chrysalis into stone? I still am

You are objectively wrong. I’m sorry, I am feeling quite calm, but all your comments are driving me insane. These villains showed redeeming qualities in Frenemies and even before that, they have done no worse than Starlight.

These villains, out of all the villains on the show deserved everything they got and I don’t feel sorry for them in the least. Especially Cozy. She might actually be the worst of the bunch. I actually think the wroters wrote her to be a literal textbook psychopath.

I sympathize with the villains to the extent that I don’t think they deserve eternal imprisonment for Discord’s mistake. If they’re in a state of hibernation, 100 years is reasonable, then give them another chance. If they refuse, 100 more years and so on.

Also, they did evil things in the past without the bell, and there’s no implication they were “possessed” by it, you’re making things up. All it does is steal, store, and export magic power. It’s basically a magical USB storage device.
