Considering the frequency with which I hear accusations of villainous incompetence, the quality of which I shall generously deem “varying”, I would think that a spot of brutal pragmatism might be better received and yet here I am, reading about how it’s apparently nothing but cowardice. Sometimes I truly can’t even.

Easy because even though Discord caused a lot of Havoc he never caused lasting damage he is a spirit of chaos and Lasting damage is the exact opposite of that Crystalis was siphoning the very life energy from people by sucking out their love cozy was draining magic which probably caused dozens of pegasi to fall to their deaths and tarek was drained of very Magic and soul from their bodies leaving them as living Corpses pretty much. So well the people of Equestria may have been afraid at first with tirek in charged I do believe they have actually gotten along with him eventually if they learned how to live with him.

Tartarus, it’s earned it.
 
I’m wracking my brain to remember, but as far as I know this is the only scene in the entire G4 series where the villain physically tortures one of the heroes here. Usually it’s just things like mind-control or imprisonment, nothing actually painful.

That was in early seasons when the fans and the show staff barely acknowledged him as a character. He’s come a long way since then. If he hadn’t, he wouldn’t even have been in this scene.
