Tag Implications

I feel the need to question the apparently somewhat new implication of: Sex -> Shipping
 
I understand this to an extent, but there are so so many places where this implication just doesn’t fit, and in a surprising number of cases is just hilariously wrong.
 
Many images that are tagged ‘rape’ are also tagged ‘sex’ and consequently are now tagged ‘shipping’.
 
There are numerous images that are nothing more then ‘disembodied penis’ and are now tagged as shipping. Similarly, images with off-screen characters, etc.
 
It seems to me that this tag does more improper tagging then proper, seeing as most images with actual shipping in them are tagged with typical pairings names and such by the original uploader, and if not they are usually tagged as such (even when not necessary) by someone very soon after.
 
TL;DR here is basically that rape is not shipping. Nor is sex with a disembodied penis, etc.

Whoa-ah, sex implying shipping is indefensibly ridiculous– that should get trashed immediately. Shipping is about exactly what it says on the tin, a relationship; sex is just rutting. Canon couples also aren’t ships, they’re canon couples, so Mrs. and Mr. Cake or Cadance and Shining Armor doin’ married people things to each other is sex, but there’s no shipping involved.

It actually occurs to me that rape implies sex at the moment, so at the moment every new image tagged ‘rape’ is currently being tagged as shipping as well. Haha… yeah no offense to whoever thought that idea up or anything, but it wasn’t thought through well enough.

Implications do not chain, and are only applied once. So although Rape -> Sex and Sex -> Shipping, Rape does not -> Shipping.
 
Basically, how the implications systems works is that when tags are added, it looks at the tags that were set, sees if any have any implied tags, and then adds those implied tags. It does not take a second look to see if the newly added implied tags have any implications themselves.

Ah well that is good at least, but it still doesn’t solve the core issue of the matter, which is that the shipping tag is still being applied to anything manually tagged sex which many things are (correctly) and therefore are incorrectly tagged as shipping.

Should weapon tags imply the tag weapon? I just looked through a few (gun and sword, to give a couple of examples) and noticed that none of them do that.

That’s a good point. Can’t believe I missed that. I’m gonna ask for an alias from “laying down” to “lying down” if only because it looks like “laying down” is maybe completely made up of this mistake.
 
The implication is still valid for “lying down”, though. So:
 
supine → lying down
 
prone → lying down

Perhaps not what the implication system was intended for, but “them’s fightin’ herds” should imply “barely pony related”.

There are also a lot of crossover pictures with TFH characters meeting the Mane6, so “barely pony related” doesn’t apply.

Until TFH there hasn’t been much occasion to use it. If you’re seeing it missing, add it.

I thought the solution we made for that was to just use archery instead.
