I’d imagine that it’d be reckless to bring a camera into a dark room. If the camera flash were to go off would that not damage or destroy all the developing photos?

As a photographer, I should say that you’ll NEVER need a camera itself while being in this room.
Red light is for working with photo paper, when the film is already taken out of the camera and developed in total darkness =)
Nice pic anyway. Love the shading here
