I kind of agree, Impious. But keep in mind that no matter how big this fandom gets, this is always going to be a kid’s show. In any other universe, sure, Discord’s a complete monster that gets his kicks from utterly ruining innocent lies.

As it stands, he’s just a dumpy prankster with a little too much power, that was never given a chance or taught how to behave.

It’s growing on me. I preferred the “unholy sadistic puppetmaster” interpretation, but “pathetic misfit with god powers that has no hope of fitting in” works fine too.
