While I actually liked (sadistically loved, in fact) Cozy’s final fate, I agree that something like this would have been much, much better and fitting with the show’s humorous style. They could have even shown an adult Cozy cleaning the bathrooms of Friendship U. and still unable to sit due to the pain.

Oh dear, looks like Cozy’s in for very sore bottom. Hopefuly Celestia will give her over to Twilight for rehabilitation afterwards.

As someone who detested Cozy Glow’s canon punishments, I am completely fine and even support this alternative. A well-deserved and far more fitting way to handle her.
