They has their own episode, Sky Wishes dreamed of flying and Star Catcher is a magical Pegasus who grants wishes and she found Sky Wishes wish pure enough so she came to her and allowed her to fly with her by having hundreds of butterflies lift her into the sky. This was in a time when Pegasuses and Earth Ponies didn’t know of each other’s existence and Star Catcher accepted Sky Wishes as a friend and showed her around the Pegasus world. They became best friends and made a promise to see each other again, and then Sky Wishes and Star Catcher plan a party to unite the two species.

I’ve not been fortunate enough to watch much of G3; could someone please try to explain why so many people ship these two (or is it another “they once sat on a bench together, therefore gay” thing)?

Totally believe this but wouldn’t the time line make them their great grandparents if we consider g3 around the same time as g4?
