Even if I were to give credit to that unicorns could have the ability to read minds, having a metal antennae cap would actually enhance the transmission and reception of psychic thoughts from the wearer.

Unless she is fully shielded all around the body, the cap cannot act as a Faraday cage that can redistribute the mind-reading energy waves around its own structure. Instead, the psychic energy would still travel to the antenna and spread around the brim of the cap, before entering the brain and returning back to the unicorn with enhanced thoughts in mind.
