Twist and her daughter Peppermint Swirl both have reindeer magic, but it comes much more naturally to Peppermint than it does to her mother. Twist had no one to show her how to control her magic, and her adoptive mothers simply didn’t have the resources to help her figure it out, so she didn’t learn how to fly until it was time to teach her calf. With plenty of books from Twilight’s personal library and a few private lessons from a handful of reindeer students at the School of Friendship, both Twist and Peppermint Swirl learned how to fly. Peppermint prefers bounding through the air over walking any day, but her mother still prefers to keep her hooves on the ground, at least until she gets more practice!
