ah I have google it, we call it “Gewerkschaften”.
A “Gewerkschaft” is a representation of a special kind of Workers, like Steel Workers (IG Metall).
Their Job is to negotiate with Companys who employ this Workers for a better Loan, better working Times and forcing them to do that with Strikes.
Just not know how it connect to the Guards, because I not think Equestria has something like this.
The Royal Guards are similar to RL Counterparts like the Brittish Royal guard or the Swiss Garde in Italy.

If you mean if they work at the same Time, then I’m not sure.
I guess the Night Watch and the Night Guards are different Groups.
The Royal Guards are the Day Shift
The Night Guard are the Night Shift, but they are Still Royal Guards
Both Shifts can apear together if needed
The Night Watch is Lunas personal Guard, maybe still from the Time as Nightmare Moon

All Guards:

Crystal, Night Watch, Changeling Guard, Commander Huricane Guard (aka E.U.P.), Earth/Unicorn/Pegasus Royal Guard

Isn’t there a guard union?
There was the E.U.P. (Earth, Unicorn, Pegasus) Guard of the Protective Pony Platoons who are the first Version of the Guards.
But usual there are three Guards in Equestria:
  • Celestias Royal Guard with Golden Armor and mostly white Coat and blue Mane
  • Lunas Night Watch or Night Guard, who are mostly Bat Ponys with lavender colored Armor, dark gray Coats and no visible Mane, but the Tail has the same Color as the Armor
  • Cadances Crystal Empire Guards in a similar Armor as the Royal Guard just in a light bluish gray Color and more Details
There are much more Variations, but this are the Main Designs.
