No Rainboom AU :Mane 6:

Description
This isn’t an original AU but I wanted to put my own spin on what happens to the mane 6 if Rainbow Dash never did the Sonic Rainboom they all witnessed and got their cutiemarks for. I know an episode did this kind of concept with Starlight reformation episode but I honestly don’t believe the Mane 6 would get the same cutiemark without it happening or live the lives they do now. Granted it was more on what if the villians were never defeated but point still stands.

-APPLEJACK-

As stated, Applejack left her home to live with her Aunt and Uncle Orange, she feels out of place there and questions if she truely should be here. Without the rainboom that convinced her to return, she decides to live with the Oranges for longer. Overtime she became more accustom to the typical Manehattan lifestyle, She slowly lost her accent overtime and spoke more like a “Manehattanite.” She earned her cutiemark for wine tasting after she was able to identify different fruit and ingredients well, first one she recalled was Apple which made her cry. She still questions herself on if she should return to the farm but she worries that her family there have forgotten her as she hasn’t talked nor visited them in years.

-RARITY-

Rarity never found out what that rock she found when she was young nor did she learn why her horn brought her there. She returned and just eventually left the outfits how they were, she felt like she couldn’t make them more “her” and feels embarrassed about it even in her adulthood, even moreso with her cutiemark being in simple fashion. As an adult she struggled to find any high-end world in fashion, the outfits she made never felt special enough for anypony to take her on. She eventually found some low-income studios where she made the same outfits in bulk for the public, making Rarity feel burnt out often after working. While working her miserable job, her horn would always try and pull her towards rocks and she never understood why, This event happened so frequently that she has lost jobs due to this. She eventually caved in and seriously damaged her horn to the point of breaking it during a meltdown. She no longer can use her magic but she feels free in some sense, but not free in her worklife.

-FLUTTERSHY-

Like in her original story, Fluttershy is bullied and Rainbow defends her and races them causing her to fall and find the animals on the group. With the Rainboom never happening, she relaxes with the animals on the newly discovered ground feeling at peace. Time passes before she remembers that she can’t fly as strong and is unable to return to the Flight Camp, nor does she know where she is to even ask for help. She learns that she can understand animals and they offer to take her to the Everfree Forest to keep her safe until somepony comes for her, she agrees and follows her new furry friends. Fluttershy is never located by anypony again, considered MIA to all at the flight camp and her own family, years later she is forgotten but grieved by her family. Unknown to them, she has been living in the forest and is surviving with the help of her animal friends whom she learned to communicate with back. She has created a treehouse for herself and has camouflaged herself for protection and stealth, she grew up with making her own weapons and tools to help her collect food, water, shelter and materials to thrive in her new home and life. She earns her cutiemark in crafting weapons with her first being her trusted knife.

-PINKIE PIE-

Pinkie still grew up on that same Rock Farm doing the same task over and over again. She never experienced the happiness she felt with that Rainboom and thus never created her first party. Her life continues to never change working on that farm, Finding geodes to sell to the public with the help of the family. She is mainly skilled in organizing files and sales with her mother but she still works the field when there are no files to do. She mainly enjoys doing the files but she seems to be mostly skilled at finding expensive geodes without much work but being too weak to break them causing her to earn her cutiemark on high value geodes. Her main talent is find the most value out of the geodes and rocks with her mom and using her minimal communication skills with talking to clients. She has some happy moments when it comes to talking to the clients, keeping them in some good spirits but knows to keep it small and doing the documents as it meant she can be off the field. As an adult, she is primary on document sorting and sales with her mom backseating her on some aspects. She wishes she could find more joy in her life but she has slowly settled on what she’s got.

-TWILIGHT-

Twilight practices magic after watching Celestia raise the sun during the Summer Sun Celebration, she practices everyday until she was enrolled into Celestia’s school for Gifted Unicorns. During her test with hatching a dragon egg, she fails and is unable to hatch it causing her to fail, leaving in embarrassment. She slips into sadness after the event, questioning her life choices and if she is truly skilled in what she loves. She drops her desire for magic and spends her days reading alone, distancing herself from any friends she made and her own family. As she got older, she slowly becomes more bitter and cynical to the world around her as she nevered as able to earn her cutiemark. She covers her blank flank with a cloak despising her for it, eventually leaving her family to roam Equestria to find her life purpose with her only object of joy being Smarty Pants her prized doll. She spends her life roaming around never fitting into any city she discovers, living in a trailer she moves with her. During her travels, Celestia is tracking her in secret to help her on her path, knowing her energy of being one the bearers of the Elements of Harmony. She never tells Twilight about it until she feels like she can gain her trust before her sister is freed from the moon.

Now bet you’re wondering how the Rainboom never happened… Well.

-RAINBOW DASH-

During the race, she gets bumped by one of the bullies she is racing which veers her off-course. She struggles to regain herself but eventually pushes through being in the lead once again, She feels the excitement in her core about racing and the adrenaline, but something happens. During her excitement, she fails maintain the newly discovered speed and ends up in the extremely bad accident. She is taken into recovery and the doctor’s about this severe injury, making it known that Rainbow Dash has fully damaged her lower body causing her to be unable to walk without help and ruining her wing muscles. Rainbow is taken care of by her parents, during her care losing her bright rainbow mane as it dulls slowly away. As she became an adult, she slowly became more independent but she is restricted to her wheelchair to move around and struggling to fly unless she has somepony giving her help. She found work the Cloud Factory where she is mainly kept to the ground level and has a pony working alongside her incase she needs to reach things higher up. She feels content with what her life is like but she desires to feel that feeling she felt as a filly, the speed and adrenaline she often dreams about over and over again.

Man this was wordy but yeah, I wanted to take a slightly darker tone with everything. I think in reality the Mane 6 wouldn’t be exactly happy with the lives they were about to have with the Rainboom but they would be content with. I kept the talents still close to what they have but changes to how they earned them without the Rainboom or completely changed them if the Rainbow was needed for it to happen
