Description
I couldn’t decide what to draw next before I started getting annoyed that I wasn’t drawing. So I drew the fish again!
Just as well regardless, it isn’t exactly a useful reference of the characters outfit if i only have her in that previous pose.
I’m not proud of the arm holding the staff, it feels too much like the previous time I drew that arm, however, I don’t actually know how to render fabrics well yet, and that staff is cool as hell, but its a pain in the ass to draw.
Speaking off, learning to draw fabric is a pain and this fabric looks very FLAT, but its tolerable in the generic standing 3/4ths angle that is the default ass pose of any goddamn drawing. But I think it hurts the previous drawing a bit lmao.
That one was supposed to be a swimming pose but with no background and the fabric not reacting to any water it made her look like she was doing a standing upright action pose.
Might redraw that at some point, not sure, I might also wanna get started on a halloween drawing, plus yknow I was serious about that making a setting to make horse oc’s (plural) thing. Ive got a few other characters I’d like to design.
Still haven’t come up with a better name then Whaletail though, though I do have a better idea of how I’d like her character to work (marginally). But you say that kind of thing publically then it risks becoming established and then if anyone actually gives a shit in the first place they might get annoyed about the change and I’d rather have something I’m more committed to yknow.
Part of whats been makin’ me draw slower is I’m trying to write a worldbuilding lore document, partially for fun, lets be honest, who tf actually reads that kind of thing its not even a narrative lmao. But yknow I want to do it and I was making progress on it.
I’ve been told she looks very anime, gives zora vibes and looks like she’s based on splatoon. I did straight up steal the color of zora armor, but the primary inspiration was actually Yareli from Warframe. I’m not really much of a weeb tbh, nothing against it, watched a few, I just dont watch much of anything in generally unless someone tells me its good and why.
Anyways, please enjoy my fish.
