I think I just lost five IQ points.
I like star ocean(the game series), but I haven’t played the last hope yet and good lord does star ocean: the last hope has it’s head up it’s arse. If you’ve played the previous games it massively has it’s head up it’s arse timeline wise.
The gameplay is good, BUT jesus christ my brain just liquified from trying to make sense of the timeline cause there’s a lot of things they are directly conflicting with.
A extremely obvious thing that five minutes made my brain feel mushy is one of the big things in star ocean is the planet “roak”. Short version is Roak became a civilized planet 336 years after the last ocean, but Roak already had contact in the last ocean(336 years before the next game timeline wise).
To use a analogy imagine star trek. . Now imagine if Star Trek made a prequel where instead of humans making contact in 2050 they had vulcans meet humans in the 1700’s. You can understand why my brain is falling out of my ears.

Games like these are one of the reasons why I want to get into game design, to make actually good games.
I actually have a good idea to get my name out there. Make a single map game zombie game that only takes 30 minutes to complete(minus all the dying) and make it dark souls level difficult. The zombies can smell you and are tracking you down; you’re being hunted and not the other way around; also if you kill a zombie the zombie loses bowel control and the zombies can smell that resulting in them knowing you killed one and will result in them fanning out and systematically searching for you; one hit deaths cause they will be smashing your skull into concrete, ripping your head off or ramming you into woodchippers that way no one can complain about it “not being realistic” cause in real life if you were rammed into a woodchipper I think you would be dead too.

Pretty much. It was good, but they should have gotten way better writers. The game itself is good, but I can feel my brain dying.
