Remember how everyone was hating on Equestria Girls?

Well now some screenshots have been released and they all seem to have gotten quite a positive reception. It just goes to show, “don’t judge a book by it’s cover” and give stuff a chance before you badmouth it.

I think part of the problem was the vomit-inducing art style the later versions were showing. I’m glad they went with the more low-key earlier ones.

Holy shit. Those are an improvement.

Just saw the trailer and I’ll give my opinion now I’ve seen it in motion;
 
-The designs look no better  
-The animation itself is sloppy to the point of jerkyness, so much so I’m even wondering if the pony and human sections are done by entirely different teams.  
-That Theme is just awful.  
-I liked spike-dog when it was a joke on Derpibooru.
 
Right now I can see the writers doing something good with it and the VA’s giving it their all. But still there’s only so much they can do.

So far i like it, but i dont like the shipping innuendo between Twilight and the blue-haired teenager. The theme song, the “highschool” setting, the boyfriend, the popular girl and all that screams “girlish pink” to me. so i still have my doubts about the whole thing.

Given the setting it was inevitable. I’m sure they’ll subscribe to the tried-out plot of the new girl coming into school to beat out the Alpha-Bitch and become prom queen and get the one “good” guy.

Yeeeahhh… but it screams cliché to me with a vuvuzella. I thought the writing team would do something more… original.

It’s kind of what that plot-type is. If not: it’s a very, very big thing within Disney and anyone else making a teenage-fronted series marketed to the youth demographic.

This looks like a combination of 6teen and humanized ponies. I mean, i understand that they wanted to keep diversity and all, and also keep the spirit of the show but…

why make it so eye-killing? I dont think i can stand a 1 whole hour animation with THOSE colors.

Could be worse. They could be more saturated. If it was: then welcome to the animated world of Henri Martisse.

Have none of you ever seen Doug? It kind of reminds me of Doug.

If the preview is anything to go by that is exactly what will happen.

I actually liked the trailer, especially Sunset Shimmer being the bad guy. That was very pleasing to see. Though as I said before, I fear people will be so blinded by hate that they won’t give it a chance or judge it unfairly.

I think it will be bad. They’ll screw it up the way they’ve been screwing up every two parter: making it all about Twilight and reducing the other 5 to bastardized support roles.

Where are you looking? It’s still getting criticism. Sure the trailer raised my expectations but ohhhhh boy that music and the overall plot hasn’t helped. Still skeptical.

Now I’m worried.

I think “Brad” will cause more problems than the anthro design ever did.

All future episode scripts are handed over to KKat, Somber, and Mimezenga.

The design is slightly less hideous, but… blegh. No. I’m not subjecting myself to watching this.

I can only hope the internet doesnt burn down.
