Sonic/Megaman Crossover

archestereo

…so yeah, this is a thing now, at least in the Archie comics anyway. It’s my understanding that part 1 is out now; so here’s my question to anybody that’s read it: is it worth a look?

Hey, if Kirby could, why not Megaman?

…possibly because Sonic isn’t a robot and Megaman can only copy other robots, but technically Capcom never actually explained how Megaman’s copy ability worked (heck, they’ve explained just about everything BUT).
Palinor

@archestereo
Actually, it was relatively explained. Mega Man was intended to be a workforce robot, he could ‘read’ and use any tool. When Wily went wacko he was redesigned to ‘read’ the mechanisms of his foes to use in his own blaster which could rewire and structure itself as needed.

…okay, wow, there’s alot more fine detail in his origins there than what I had gleaned from other sources. At best they’d say something about Rock being able to work in a chaotic environment and being GIVEN a copy system when he was converted to a combat robot. Where’d Capcom explain this?
Palinor

@archestereo
I remember it being discussed in the cartoon, so while it’s not capcom themselves it is the greatest explanation I have seen. I don’t think that it was transcribed into only the online information.

I do think that one of the wikis states that Megaman was originally built to be Light’s lab assistant and briefly states the tool reading power. Not sure if it’s a megaman one or the normal wikipedia.

Oh great. Now we just need a platformer with both Sonic and Mario going toe to toe or helping each other out that isn’t SSB.

Lol, I had mentioned in another thread how the perfect crossover game for those two would be in the style of Sonic Generations and Mario Galaxy: Sonic Generations because you’d switch between Mario and Sonic and play two versions of levels from both Mario’s and Sonic’s games, and then Mario Galaxy because-

…well, this may get me alot of heat, but let’s be honest: Mario Galaxy games were more like Sonic Adventure 2 than like Mario 64.
