That’s an understatement to say the least. Funny thing is I did not at all expect it to explode as big as it is back when it first aired.

I believe IF MLP FIM was TV-PG like adventure time and regular show or at least TV-Y7 like gumball and gravity falls it’d wouldn’t have so much hate and it would have been taken more seriously

It’s only because it has the MLP name, which hasn’t been well received for nearly 30 years prior to FiM. Regardless of the show’s quality, it still has to carry the stigma of the three decades of crap before it.

Yes, but that’s also why people looked into it. The idea of a MLP cartoon being good if not great was shocking to a lot of people and made them get hooked to the show. Also By being MLP it has a…taboo element for being a show with an all female main cast, about colored ponies, and as songs and moral lessons proudly presented.

That and the brony craze’s initial boom pissed off a lot of people. On 4chan you are still banned for posting pony outside of /mlp/ and if you ask the anons most of them don’t care about the show and some even like, they just hate the sheer amount of shitposting that happens on both sides whenever MLP is brought up.
 
On a separate note, have any of you guys seen Fillmore, that buddy cop cartoon?  

anyway sort of moving on its a shame MLP FIM didn’t move to CN it along with TTGO, gumball, steven universe, regular show and adventure time would have been an amazing lineup

Actually, I’d say it’s a good thing given how CN always treats Transformers… Plus, it wouldn’t have lasted long on CN at all if the previous guy (I forgot his name) was still in charge… You know, the guy who purged CN of all “girl shows” and cancelled Young Justice because it attracted a female audience? And I’m not sure the current head is much better, given how Transformers is still treated like crap (though it somehow still gets very high ratings apparently).

the reason stuff like ninjago gets better treatment then other 3rd party shows from what I hear is because lego pays CN a lot of money to put ninjago on prime-time compered to hasbro and sega

going back to if MLP FIM was on CN for a second: friendship games and regular show the movie would have made a great double feature

in turms of ratings it goes: disney channel >>> CN >>> nick >>> disney XD >>> boomerang >>> nicktoons >>> discovery family
