Update to this: Khamzat actually came to greet Abubakar but by tapping his belly (yea that’s a Khamzat thing to do) but Abubakr hated it.

Yeeeeah Khamzat kinda reminded me of that one popular schoolboy back in my school where he greet people by saying “AYYYYY SUP BRUH!!!” then slapping their shoulders or tapping their stomach hard because it’s his way of greeting people.

Just an observation:
Both Oliveira and Makhachev had been living under Khabib’s shadow. Oliveira wanted to let everyone know that Khabib is a thing of the past. Islam obviously had to live up with the Heir role and fulfilling Abdulmanap’s wish.

I think this result is a GOOD ENDING for Makhachev and a Neutral Ending for Oliveira.

Oliveira no longer needs to compare himself with Khabib. The fans no longer would need to say shit like “You’s champ only because Khabib left.” Actually, a lot of weight have been taken off his shoulders with this loss.

Islam Makhachev on the other hand, have proven that the Heir title is well-deserved, have fulfilled Abdulmanap’s wish.

This is where Khamzat honestly belongs, not with Darren but I can’t argue with him. If he heard me saying this he would slap me. He is who he is and he has all the known freedoms to be on his own… he’s a lone wolf, but he should know his limits on who he punks and runs into. Look at what happen to him and Abubakar, his passive-aggressive style of greeting just got him in trouble with his own men. He needs to learn how to respect.

If Khamzat trains with Khabib then the whole 170 and 185 has a huge problem with him.

This has been such a peak comedy for me right now.

Alex Volkov has 25 wins 1 losses, 12 fights win streak. Makhachev 23 wins 1 loss, 11 fights win streak. Alex Volkov has a 1 inch reach advantage over Makhachev, but Makhachev is half a head taller than Volkov.

Alex Volkov lands three times more strikes per minute than Makhachev. But Makhachev absorbs three times less strikes per minute than Volkov. Both are about as accurate with their striking.

Makhachev has a 65% takedown accuracy, Volkov has 73% Takedown defense. On the other hand Volkov has a measly 36% Takedown accuracy and Makhachev a staggering 88% Takedown defense.

Volkov won four times by finishes, none of it submission. Makhachev has won eight times by finishes, six of it with submission.

Conclusion: Makhachev rarely gets hit, and is one of the most defensive fighters in LW top 10. It would be very hard to drop him or catch him lacking.
If it ever goes to the ground, which it eventually will…Makhachev will most likely be having top control and Volkov will have a bad time.

Volk has never faced an elite grappler like Islam or anybody else before. I believe his only miracle of getting past him is his striking. And if Islam can absorb his punches then it’s an easy 2nd or 3rd round sub by him.
