I swear this sport is soo fucking beautiful. At the end of the day, when the war is over, these fighters would often end up respecting and acknowledging one another because this is the hurt business. They’re edgy and toxic at the start just to promote the fight then they’ll squash their beef when they finally see each other and their strengths and weaknesses after the fight.

I legit wonder if Alex had the same burning desire to beat Izzy the way Izzy does towards him. How mutual was it? Alex had nothing else to prove coming into the fight. He took the belt, gave Izzy an L, and stopped him from reaching Silva’s record and in like half a year been on-and-off trolling Izzy.

Izzy on the other hand, had a legacy and reputation to consider. He knew he could have won the fight last year. Must have been eating away at him. Kinda amazing how he used that as fuel to secure a massive highlight KO, a Knockout of the Year candidate.
