Because the idea is, and Genesis even says, that humans and Earth’n all are patterned after the Gods that created them.
Most Christians would call me polytheistic and be all offended that I used the plural there, but what else am I supposed to do when Genisis says “Make Man in
our own image…”? Nicene Creed, man, really contradicts quite a few things in the bible…
But anyways, also there’s the “children of God” thing, and typically, the only difference in-between a child and the father is age - one isn’t some sort of incomprehensible being - except maybe if the baby is just too young to understand what adulthood entails…
But yeah, main point: after their image, familial resemblance, etc.
