Another day, another piece of news showing the astonishing stupidity of Donald Trump.
 
Trump’s aides had to straight up explain to him that his blanket screams of ‘STOP THE COUNT!’ would in fact cause him to lose on the spot.
 
Which, of course, led to the darkly hilarious moment where the best What He Meant To Say Was the WH could come up with was that “He did not want all of the states to stop counting votes …”, because there really wasn’t a whole lot of non-fascist ways to spin a raving declaration to end literal democracy.

It’s not mathematically impossible for fortunes to be reversed, just unlikely. Until the total remaining votes are under what either candidate would need to tie or overcome their opponent, you can’t be sure.

It’s probably a bit of both. Someone like CNN is totally in the keep people watching camp. Someone like ABC news which was constantly saying “alright guys, we’ve not going to be calling states even when some of the other networks have” probably is more in the extreme caution camp.

In fact, I could flip this around. Anime used to lean towards progressiveness, with stuff like Ghibli films and Sailor Moon‘s depiction of a lesbian couple. Now? It’s mostly Isekai fanservice and lolibait designed to cater to neckbeards.
 
Remember the time r/animemes went apeshit over banning contextual usage of the T word because it has a history in the killing of transgender people? Fun times.
