Blocking Users

This site needs to add the ability to hide users, in addition to hiding tags in the settings menu. That’d be great.

I think MiningOS just meant the added ability to hide users in the settings, like how the tags currently work.
 
It’s in the Loooooooooooooooooooooong list of “to do” stuff in the works. No idea when it’ll happen though.

I think the BORED extension would be the right place for this. No need to strain the servers.

Almost nobody hides tags now. People aren’t gonna hide users. You guys can’t expect the admins to spend their limited time working on a feature very, very few users will ever use. This is low on the list, if it’s there at all.

20 loud people out of, what, tens of thousands each month is practically none. Shit, we have people asking for a “reveal all” button (horrible idea, please don’t do it).
 
Don’t get me wrong. I’d love to have this feature. I can’t block Kein posting spoilers since he posts anonymously but I’d find a use for it. I’m just saying don’t hold your breath. This is gonna be way the fuck down the list.

You know that there are four tags hidden by default, right? I’m pretty sure 90% of those thousands of visitors have at least kept 1 or 2 (hell, it took me 10 months to realize that I didn’t have the grotesque tag showing)

Anyway! Back on topic, what exactly would “hiding users” do? Would it hide their comments, their uploads, or both?

I always assumed that it would block both, seems like it would be easier. I would only personally use this on users who consistently upload/make comments that I don’t want to see any more.

There are a surprisingly large number of tags for porn or fetishes that I don’t approve of, ships I don’t like, artists whose work I’d rather not see, and annoying memes, aren’t there.

I probably wouldn’t have a lot of use for it either. If it were implemented, I’d mostly use it for those who made annoying comments, since tag-filtering works pretty well for images already. Not the best way to filter comments, but one of the easiest.

Oh no, I’d definitely use it. Don’t get me wrong. I’d add users to the ignore list the second it became available.
 
If not on the booru at the moment, could we at least have a feature like this on the forum?

I am aware of that post since it is the 3rd post of this thread so there was no need but thank you regardless.
