DNS server issues

DNS issues should be resolved now. HOWEVER, there’s still significant slowdown due to how that machine’s failure impacted the main machines. In addition, the host for our primary servers is playing around with their network links, dropping an abnormally high load on the datacenter we’re in, which is messing with things even further.

As you may have noticed, .ru domain is currently unavailable, as was .org for some times. This is due to the DNS server up and dying on us at around midnight.
 
Unfortunately that server also managed some load balancing shenanigans between the main, so it’s likely you’ll notice some slowdowns or timeouts until we get the machine back up.

It’s kind of shameless for me to ask…but,  
Is this all also related to how nearly half of Derpibooru population just suddenly stopped posting because they couldn’t reach this site without an IP?
 
There are people who are starting to speculate that this has something to do with this.

I would like to believe this is just a scary coincidence.

I can’t speak for everyone else, but I normally go through the .ru domain, and I only just now by chance discovered that the .org one was working after attempting to access the .ru periodically over the past couple hours.
 
I suspect there’s many users who aren’t even aware of the .org domain.

I think it was because EqD introduced the site to the denizen in it’s .ru domain when Ponibooru was shutting down. I stayed on .ru for half a year before moving onto the .org domain.

Yup

.ru was working, then stopped when I tried to comment. Then .org stopped working a little while later, again when I tried to comment. Then I tried to post this via the IP address page, and it failed. Lets see if it works this time.

Thank goodness it’s “just” a DNS issue… I was scared for a minute here.

It appears https://trixiebooru.org/images isn’t working either. I had absolutely no problems with the .org domain other than random lag. It seems different people have different connectivity issues.

Yeah, it straight up doesn’t work for me for anything but the IP address. And trying to browse without my filters on and defaults off, eugh. At least it means image links still work.

Was there a gallery desync or rollback? Some items seem to have… disappeared.

I think this is related, but notifications no longer seem to be working either.

Probably also related, but I just had 14 days worth of comments disappear. I assume that’s not normal?

Something’s definetely up; This picture still exists, but it’s nowhere in my uploaded images list.
 
And like everyone else says, a good chunk of my recent comments went south..

I think when this started happening, it also stopped updating the stream list, as it says online underneath the stream, but has the offline for the picture.

advice: if you manage to find a way to one of the “deleted” pics, update its tags, it fix them.

Hmmm… Same here. No wonder my notifications were quiet.

Well, my uploaded pictures are back to normal but my comments from the past 2 weeks are a no show.
 
At least we’re making progress.

Yeah that’s oddly specific how two weeks of comments have vanished into the ether.

Noooo! Muh comments! They’re gone again! They exist, but the comments page does not display them.
