point system

i source/tag someone else’s upload, i get a point off them for each tag. vice versa.

And what would that achieve?

Nothing against them. But wouldn’t implementing these be a little too much for the staff with what they have? Not to mention the bug galore.

Which can be expensive and too much hassle. As seen with what happened to projects such as Equestria Online and Welcome to Ponyville. No, those projects weren’t shot down by Hasbro, one was abandoned and the other one was sabotaged by a rogue staff.

uhh, didn’t the first one was shot by hasbro?

It would be impossible to automate, as the source/tags would have to be correct.
 
It couldn’t be community managed, as that would lead to cliques and popularity contests and random usage (most users wouldn’t contribute to the system).
 
We’d need a lot more mods to properly sustain the feature as it involves checking not just every upload, but every tag and source edit.
 
There was an idea for “badges”, but most of them would have to be handed out by staff, and they’d be somewhat rare or purely stat based.
 
Right now, just no resources to implement anything like it.

No? It would just create even more work for mods who’d have to deal with reports about it getting abused.
