Updating posted images

How does it work?
 
I ask because I uploaded a picture (a photo) a while back, that I’d now like to post an updated version of.

You make a new post and report the old as a duplicate. The edit feature only really applies to descriptions, as well as tags, which anyone can do anyway.

If you can get ahold of a mod fast (on IRC or a PM, generally meaning me), then it can be switched within minutes, ie. before it leaves the front page or whatnot. Otherwise, just reupload and it’ll get merged (eventually).
