Do you think the mane 6 will be a bit more consistent in Season 4?

I know a lot of people don’t like how they were handled in season 2 and 3, they didn’t really hold consistency between episodes of learning their lessons (Applejack, especially). A lot of motivations don’t make sense and some things feel thrown in (magical mystery cure, even though I liked it).
 
What I’m trying to say is, will the writers actually nail the personalities down, keep that personality consistent, and actually introduce none rehashed plots/lessons for them? Or maybe, make more “adventure” type episodes which was sorely lacking in season 2 and 3, instead of dedicating them to one character’s drama or CMC messing everything up.
 
Hope my thread makes sense. I tried rewriting it 3 times but couldn’t go into detail about anything because it’s been so long since i watched the show, I just want to know what people think about what Season 4 should focus on.

The proper way to do this thing is to do what creative people often do: make shit up.
 
How this helps is that when one conflict is exhausted you create a new one.  
Preferably something that was hinted at before

They haven’t really been given any incentive to do anything differently than they’ve already been doing it.

The only one who I think has an issue with inconsistency is Rarity. The others are fairly consistent, too consistent imo.

I should say, for clarification, that I think the phenom I described is a fairly recent development that only seems to plague her when the episode is not about her.

Rarity was the one who didn’t get enough screen time in general during Se03. Most of the time she was in the background doing… something.

I have no idea what you’re talking about, so I honestly can’t say they will or won’t be more “consistent,” whatever that means.

I understand where you’re coming from OP, and although I don’t necessarily agree with you (in that I think most of the meandering was down in S2, and not S3 per se), I hope that there is more general consistency in S4.
 
Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t want the characters as they stand to become static characters. I want them to evolve consistently and believably as new challenges and conflicts arise.
