@DragonBoi471
I really wish that could’ve been serious, because I want us all to have fun and be happy. :)
But it was a sorta sarcastic remark about how nearly all of your threads are a silly suggestion worded in an inflamatory way.
(Or as the internet calls them, “bait”.)
You have to ask yourself what do you want: a lot of offended shouting, ignoring, and getting explained things you already know (or SHOULD know), or would you rather have people make interesting new points, and even people not agreeing with you making contributions to shared discussion to the limited extent of how little they care?
If your intention is the latter, then you really have to learn to make sure you’re asking intelligent questions in a polite way.
——
For example, here is how you do NOT do it:
topic:
“Should Twilight get killed off?”
Stupid? Check. She’s the main character, of course it’s not going to happen.
Overly provocative? Check. Why upset people who like her by waving your dislike in their face so much you even suggest their character shouldn’t exist?
But what you do is not to completely refrain from asking some questions (though sometimes that can be the wisest choice), but focus on the valid, logical, and neutral bits while leaving room to touch on any related topic if people can handle it. In other words, you do what’s best to foster a fruitful conversation.
(Assuming you care what people can say in the first place, which is the assumed purpose of the forum.)
for example, a better title in this example would be:
topic:
What would the show be like without Twilight?
It is provocative enough to the imagination that it can attract attention and invite people to all kinds of possibilties, but without being offending to anyone or feeling like it’s griping about some grudge.
Now back to the current topic, surely you realize how idiotic it sounds. 1, you really think that there are Hasbro writers sitting around reading fanstuff (which most tend to avoid as a rule, stuff like Larson doing ep100 research are the rare exception), JUST so that they can falsify it? To what end? 2, even your examples are burning with silly. The CMC marks are an attack on fanon. Yes. Something that was oozing to happen for several seasons now finally happening surely was just done to “spite” the fans. Y’know, the fans who wanted it to happen anyway.
I mean…What?
No, what you’re probably seeing is the totally unsurprising phenomenon of one (fan)author’s idea not 100% matching the idea of another (show)author.
Vinyl’s muteness MAY have been a precautionary reaction to her VA’s popularity (that seems the most plausible theory), but we won’t know for sure.
But Hasbro will never, ever try to purposely piss off its audience (only in some fandom-haters’ wet dreams), and it’s nonsensical to suggest so.
Sorry for sounding preachy, but a little extra thinking before asking these questions really is YOUR and OUR shared best interest. :)
