Moonflower: “There isn’t a whole lot we know ‘bout them, but from what I’ve heard, grootslangs are scary giant snake monsters that live underground, north of here.
 
They’re super mean, and just as good at hidin’, so they always see you before you can see them! And ‘cause they’re so big, there’s no way you can fight back. Not without some really strong magic, anyway.
 
But they really like gemstones. If you give ‘em somethin’ shiny, maybe they’ll leave you alone. They live in the Heart of the Everfree, though, so I bet they already got more shiny stuff than the rest of Equestria put together.”
