Never thought of it that way, that’s fitting since they are both plastic toy line. So I’m pretty sure them following on Trolls footstep is intentional. So whenever it please people or not is a matter of tastes, I for one don’t mind. People were bickering on another Pic about how Hitch nostril looked fake, I’m sure now the mimicking of plastic figurine anatomy is a deliberate artistic choice
