Even if avoid Opaline’s attack, Dragon Land is full of mean dragons with no friendship to Spike and in Dragon land he has never been treated equally as a member of his own race! so trust no it as a refuge!

Even with the other dragons not liking him, Spike could have been forced to escape to the Dragon Lands to get away from Opaline’s attack on Equestria.

Just because Spike knows some dragons is no reason for Spike to go to Dragon Land! Dragon Lord Ember was talking about how dragons were the best, but that didn’t stop a bunch of big, mean dragons from tormenting little Spike!(It must be the best in that there are several large dragons bullying a young dragon that is not hostile!) Smolder tells Spike in ‘S08 E11 molt down’ that dragons and ponies are friends, but in ‘S09 E09 sweet and smoky’, when Fluttershy went to Dragon Land, Garble and the bunch threw lava, hurting Fluttershy and almost killing her! Garble and his bunch bully little Spike every time Spike goes to Dragon Land! Garble’s softening doesn’t mean he’s friends with Spike. Spike’s idea to play the bongos and hatch dragon eggs with the dragon’s fiery laughter was a success and Garble became the hero of Dragon Land, but Garble never even thanked Spike or apologized for bullyng Spike! All he did was save his face and make a profit! There was no feeling that Spike’s relationship with the Dragon Land dragons had improved at all even at the end of ‘S09 E09 sweet and smoky’!

Well, I guess Spike just roars and growls now.

There’s still a chance Spike could have gone there as he did know some dragons who lived there… Dragon Lord Ember, Smolder, and even Garble became a friend of his after he mellowed out.

With that in mind, there’s a chance he could have gone to live with alongside those dragons after his pony friends passed away.

Dragons are long-lived creatures, and Spike, Ember, Smolder, and Garble could all still be around in this era. However, they would probably be much bigger than they were in G4.

Don’t get your hopes up for Spike go to Dragon Land, because no friends to welcome Spike and no minimum clue about his biological family!
There are no creatures more disreputable than the dragons of Dragon Land that torments Spike! Even if it changes over a thousand years or more…
