@SeraphimDawn
If a group has an equal number of male and female members, most of them will perceive the group as being predominantly female. Studies have been done.
However, Touhou is unique for a reason… Maybe it’s because most generic shows have equal amount of both genders.
In real life, there are plenty of females/males in a single group who aren’t dating either. It does happen.
You know those scenes where boys or girls gossip with each other about other people and life?
Exactly.
I’ve seen many anime where the main casts often have a “segregation” moment, such as change rooms scenes, bathhouse scenes and boys/girls club scenes with hilarious interactions between characters of their own genders.
Thank you.
Actually yes. Male cast-female fanbase, female cast-male fanbase. This is not the rule but it is very common in shows.
Technically, there was no G2. It was G1.5 really. Tales was still G1. I get what you mean though. I honestly don’t mind the crushes part, but it can be done right.
Star Trek originally was.
But with little to no BS crushes that G2 MLP did.
Maybe light and semi-ambiguous, but not revolve around it.
Popular with the guys at least.
If franchises(mostly anime) with majority female casts are popular with the male demographic. Then does that mean franchises with majority male casts are popular with the female demographic?
I’m with you actually.
Nah, part of the reason I feel the show is so popular is the all female main cast. It’s kind of like touhou’s popularity.
Sorry I meant Dinky instead of Derpy.
Impossible!
Provided there will even be a season 5.
I know… and I’m not expecting it to stay that way.
I seriously think we’re getting a new main character introduced in S5. Call it a gut feeling.
So? That doesn’t seem to be a big deal as there is only one unicorn on the group now.
