Pegasi are fast. If RD could achieve Mach 1 with Sonic Rainboom, an average pegasus should be able to fly at fairly impressive speeds. He might get there in less than a day (two at most) on his own wingpower, even if he isn’t particularly well fit.
He could rest and sleep on clouds during breaks.
Plane would be more convenient but the point is he could have gotten there if he wanted bad enough.
If it takes 8+ hours to get from England to the US on a plane, it’s gonna be one heck of a long flight by wing.
