@redweasel
i don’t think is true some think they do understand something and still hate it but in reality, they don’t but that depends
again people do hate things they don’t understand like taking someone who does not like crocodiles or alligators and thinking that they are vicious monsters who only kill and eat and thus hate them perhaps due to fear or other things that lead to ignorance like superstitions.
(example: ravens, bats, wolves, and the Aye-aye)
yet if they take time to research and learn about them then they see them as creatures who even though they kill and eat they only do that for survival and can actually be smart and loving creatures to their offspring (when they see how the mother is and how they protect their babies) and this start to like them, same with wolves or other animals but of course it depends on the person
here is what I found on goggle
Why do people fear things they do not understand?
The fear of the unknown is just ignorance in disguise. Ignorance can lead to many things. One of those would be finding offensive content in practically everything. People who tend to fall into the category of ignorance will find more things offensive because they don’t have a broad knowledge upon differing topics.
which shows that yes people hate things they don’t understand due to ignorance so there you go

@Lawful Girly
what you said is obviously not true that statement of “people hate things they don’t understand” IS true is just depends on what is the thing they hate.
if is something like coffee, yes you understand coffee and still hate it because of the taste (maybe) but when it comes to a person, for example, is just judging a person due to their appearance or whatever, but that is called ignorance, you would hate them because of something so simple yet if you get to know them then you understand them more and maybe become friends
so really it IS TRUE that you can hate something that you don’t understand but of course that depends on the individual person

G1 I’ve heard is actually really good, adventure packed, and the characters have personalities that rival and most likely were inspirations for FiM.

G2, which is what Tales is often called, is actually G1.5. There was no G2 cartoon despite the toyline and game.

Don’t listen to all the haters down there, listen to the love. In all seriousness, i haven’t watched anything between rescuse at midnight castle and friendship is magic part 1. I don’t really have much of an opinion on g2, g3, and g3.5.

@Darth Sonic
Yeah, they kinda do in a way, but they still kinda look horse-like to me…the worst style IMO is G3.5’s. No offense to people who like it, but those ponies don’t look like ponies. The G1 looked the most like ones.

@TheOtherPinkiePie
Me too (now I’m thinking of Arthur’s A A R D V A R K” rap XD). But still, I find comments like that ridiculous, the G1 ponies still look more like ponies than G4 even does (though those ponies still look like ponies/cartoon horses, although no real horse is pink and blue and such).

Those bronies who think that most likely are https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2S1viy1Wqp0

WHAT? The G1 toys do NOT look like aardvarks (I’m collecting some in fact)!!! Aardvarks have long thin looking heads, faces and snouts like this: full

Plus, their nostrils are on the front of their noses like pigs!

The G1 pony toys have rounder heads, and longer looking snouts that are a bit thicker (the nostrils aren’t placed so they look like pigs), they look like ponies/horses (they look the most like equines out of all the generations): full

G3’s toys don’t look like hippos; hippos have more rounder cheeks and snouts than they do too.

@Ilsor
G3’s level of “childishness” is what makes it so bad. It’s nothing but inane ultra-kiddie stuff, the kinds of “teaparties and dress-up” that Faust sought to put an end to with FIM. I don’t see how anyone above the age of 6 unironically enjoys it.

G3 Pinkie Pie was a fucking saint having to deal with Minty’s shenanigans all the time I mean seriously. Remember that time she pretended to be Santa because she broke a giant candy cane?

God dammit Minty.

@Background Pony #EADC
Damn auto-correct…

I’m just saying, us prioritizing the show over the toys makes sense. And when he was talking about regression, he was talking sole about the G3 shows. Which, and please be honest, is of starkly lower quality to either the G1 shows or G4.
