I don’t think G5 will be as popular as G4. G4’s popularity was a perfect storm of things.

Do you think the original cast will return for G5 or will they be voiced by new actors?

According to the leaks, they will be voiced by celebrities in the movie and soundalike VAs in the 2D series that comes after… So it’s probable no one will keep their G4 VAs.

If we follow the pattern of Paramount animation movies (though they will only distribute the movie and nothing more), it’s very likely we’ll have lots of comedians in the cast. For example, leaked emails mentioned some of the production staff wanted to cast Tiffany Haddish as Applejack (only time will tell if they got what they wanted). Although, to be honest, I would love to see Emily and Kristin return as Mane 6 members.

I have a feeling someone will turn these VA guesses into meme posts…

Yes, I knew that. Trying to guess who will voice the Mane 6 and Spike in the movie will be quite difficult, since there are thousands of comedians, actors, actresses and singers in Hollywood.

Tiffany Haddish as Applejack. That is something I’d like to see. But can she pull off a Southern accent?

That’s what I want to know. I would love to see Tiffany as Applejack, as long as the character’s country accent remains (the production staff wants to make AJ an urban character).

AJ won’t be southern in G5, if anything, from what I’ve heard she’ll be Mr. Enter’s headcanon of Babs Seed with Tempest Shadow’s backstory, Sunset Shimmer’s redemption arc, and Littlepip’s stature.

I love the way you described how the production staff wants G5 Applejack to be. Mainly because she actually can be considered Babs Seed’s counterpart, not just Tempest and Sunset’s.

Even though I want Applejack to keep her country roots, I would like to hear her with a Manhattan accent too. It would be a bit out-of-place (since G5 Ponyville will probably be a colourful meadow), but maybe it would sound good.

That Babs is a sociopath. This was based mainly on the fact she bullied Apple Bloom into sleeping on the floor, but still.

Babs only had put on a tough facade because she didn’t want to be bullied like in her hometown. She’s not a sociopath.

I also think she briefly considered eating one of the bullies, but violent revenge fantasies don’t technically mean sociopath, though I would probably present her to a therapist and see the diagnosis.

Calling her The Big Apple would be very ironic, since she probably will be shorter than most earth ponies. And that’s why it’s the perfect nickname!
