You know the marketing stigma that villain toys do not sell well.
 
Discord is chaos and madness incarnate and has been in the cartoon since eps 27 and 28, while Tirek (design-wise) was lifted from G1, y’know the 80’s.

Almost half of them are “reformed.” I also wonder about Sunset not counting as a major villain. Perhaps just an oversight in the exceptions list but it could also be that she sucked as a villain so isn’t really major.

Know how much time an artist will consume to redraw The Dazzlings in their true forms, compared to their more approachable (from box arts) Pony forms.

Why do people constantly draw the Dazzlings as ponies as if that’s their real form?

How about some more recurring villains that don’t get reformed?

Yeah, it’s a shame because a lot of people would probably react badly to it (EQG hate). I think the show writers are afraid to do anything drastic since the whole Twilicorn incident. I mean, its taken them ages to allow some new characters into the mane cast (Sunset Shimmer and Starlight Glimmer). As for The Dazzlings, I have a nasty feeling that we won’t be seeing them again in any sort of media, since as I’ve said before the format for the movies is to have a new antagonist each time. Even if they did come back they’d probably be reformed and turned into Friendship zombies. All we can do is hope. :)
