…there’s a joke here, but I’m not quite culturally literate enough to pull it off…
To be fair, queens usually mate with a drone they gave birth to in order to reproduce. That and clone themselves, but that’s not the case here.

POSSIBLY. We aren’t 100% sure that changelings can’t reproduce individually. Chrysalis is a queen but we know mostly that it’s due to her being stronger and also a literal political figurehead who has no sway over her subjects beyond issuing commands, as Thorax and the whole hive learned.
