Those would be wondering what flutter-shy ate when her flatulence was enough to make rarity teary eyed while blushing when she had to wonder what range she was to stay away from flutter-shy.

It is canon that the ponies fart, but both Fluttershy and Rarity probably fart silently every time. I cannot imagine Fluttershy farting louder than a quiet “pppsssssshhhh”, she probably isn’t even capable of farting louder than that (where I could see Rarity doing it accidentally or after holding it in real long). Though I find it impossible to imagine Silverstream farting because of her graceful fluffy appearance, even though her personality is closer to Pinkie Pie.
 
Also, in the original comic, Fluttershy is under a spell that makes her imitate animals. Here she is imitating a skunk in the only way she can, though some think Rarity is reacting to the skunk smell and that Fluttershy didn’t fart at all, just walking like a skunk. (This version of it edits out the skunk while adding in the fart cloud) In her right mind, Fluttershy would NEVER fart intentionally in front of anyone, except maybe animals.
 
As for Rarity, it was completely accidental because she was laughing too hard at one of Pinkie’s jokes. Kind of like a PG version of wetting from laughing too hard. Pinkie said Rarity was extremely embarrassed about it, as we know she would be in that situation.

I can’t imagine fluttershy farting. could you imagine that? Seriously though what comic was this from? Still though it out of character for fluttershy to do and rarity wouldn’t do that ether because she’s a lady she would find something like that rude or something just saying

I knew that. And I knew of that scene. It’s even canon in the show where she laughs at Rainbow Dash’s whoopee cushion prank on Twilight, where the other four are unamused, even Applejack who just doesn’t see how it’s funny.

Also the fact that it’s even rarer to see it with female characters like Rarity and Fluttershy. Much less graceful female characters (as opposed to a weird, goofy pony like Pinkie Pie or a tomboy like Rainbow Dash). And that is a good point, I do like to think that even Rarity wouldn’t stay annoyed for more than a few seconds if a pony farted in front of her. Of course she WAS really embarrassed about farting in the tub, but being as ladylike as she is she does make an effort to keep up that image, but none of the others reacted the slightest to Pinkie mentioning it.

I liked this particular panel because of how low-key the reaction to Fluttershy’s farting would be. And just like the Pinkie Pie tub reaction seen in the comments below, something like that is shocking to the reader because of how rare referencing bathroom humor is, but is quite more of “Oh my. Well, it happens” reaction in-universe. Kind of makes them feel more 3 Dimensional in a way.

It’s technically unclear whether Fluttershy farted in the original version of this panel during her time acting as a skunk or if Rarity was just smelling the very real skunk walking beside her (or both).

Oh so this is an edit, she didn’t actually fart in that scene. But of course she wouldn’t be the first
