Basically, kneejerk reaction to OP, source site and general theme of the time, regardless of art or actual message.
Its uploaded by one of the most blatant ducks on the site, it came amongst a deluge of less pleasant mouthpieces and when people were getting sick of them
It may be a current issue, but it’s a current issue a whole lot of people are unaware is an issue (I mean, why would there be trans-excluding feminists?); yet the tone set by the image is accusing the viewer of engaging in bad behavior.
There was a reason people started making “positive ponies” mouthpiece images; Making an example of good behavior rather than accusing a whole lot of innocents of bad behavior is simply far better.
These pictures are accusing, and they accuse indiscriminately. They are angry with anyone who does not take their side. And they use ponies to preach their beliefs even when the message has nothing to do with MLP. People are not happy about that. I don’t find it hard to understand why.
these are addressing current issues, and if the viewer’s contributing to the issue, then the poster is doing its job soo. If they’re not 8 times out of ten they’ll try to research what they’re saying to understand the post. i doubt someone stumbles across something they don’t know and don’t straight up google it

The real problem is that there was a massive flood of negative ones, over and over again accusing and insulting the viewer, bronies, men, etc, and its put people off them
A lot of them are made in a way that’s already accusing the viewer of something. I mean, look at Rarity’s expression there; that’s not someone sending out a positive message, that’s someone angry because someone’s engaging in “bad behavior” and has to scold them, which easily translates to an accusation towards the viewer.
90%+ of the people looking at this image have no idea what Rarity is talking about, but they know she’s pissed off at them.
I don’t see many of these mouthpieces as bad either. Lots of them are done poorly and a few are dumb, but I think a good number at least have a good idea to them. I don’t really care if it’s written as if a female pony said them. I see nothing wrong with the messages.

i’m talking about the message shown here, and should parents have to worry about including trans people in communities. Not excusing the whole, kill male fans part though i doubt these have very little effect on people trying it. but it’s not a “vast majority” like you put it. most of it is straight up female empowerment, sooooo, i don’t see how any of these “mouthpieces” are bad.
Because when the vast majority of mouthpiece is just “Kill male fans!” and the like, the artist’s usual “It wasn’t me! the pony said it!”
and how is that a bad thing?
Parents don’t want to have to try to explain what this means to their kid.
And always qualify what you mean by “feminists”. There’s a world of difference between “feminist” and “Tumblr feminist”, just as big as there is between “person that cares about social justice” (ie anyone that isn’t an asshole) and “social justice warrior”.
There Are Many Feminisms, and YOU don’t get to police other feminists.
