The biggest problem with is not being able to hold your attention, specially if you know how the formula works.  
Do things for the rebels, get kidnapped, escape, do things for the rebels, get kidnapped, escape, rinse and repeat until the end of the game.  
At least there’s some hints that the nuke ending didn’t actually happen, but still

Yeah. I dunno about Far Cry 1, 2, Blood Dragon or Primal.  
But Vaas was a fun villain, Hoyt was entertaining enough, De Pleur was funny in his adamant self-righteousness, Noore was alright, Yuma was a fun fight, and I loved Pagan’s eccentricity.  
But I’m watching an LP of 5 on YouTube, and, between Faith, Jacob and John, none of them seem to have much of anything in the way of enjoyable character traits.

Five was okay but it was just a massive downer the whole time. The other games had villains who were funny and charismatic enough to balance it out where Five’s was just an evil dude. Also every ending is depressing :/

I liked ‘em, the only thing I could really fault them is that 4 is basically FarCry 3.5 and 5’s story is terrible, but they’re fun games.

If you haven’t yet and can’t get some to run Far Cry 5 on, then I definitely recommend 3 or 4. Both are pretty fun games (though 3, 4 & 5 are all a bit too samey for some, but then again, Pokémon has remained largely the same since Red & Blue, so Far Cry can get away with it too) plus in 4, there’s a grappling hook and little personal-sized helicopters, and there’s a bell tower just west of the King’s Bridge where you can get a really good assault rifle and sniper rifle way sooner than you’re supposed to, if you fly right for it after the tutorial outpost.

Yeah, pretty much right at the beginning. He kills one of his own men with a pen for screwing up his orders, then asks your character to hold the bloody pen so he can take a selfie with you.

And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. I don’t even dare spoil any of the really damned funny stuff this guy says and does.
 
Also too, yeah if you wait at the table long enough you’ll get an easter egg alternate ending, but I don’t recommend doing it until you beat the game proper (it spoils a huge plot thread if you do).

There are three ways this can go.
 
Twilight Prime can escape then later on kill Human Twilight.
 
Twilight Prime can escape then later on do what she came to do, with Human Twilight getting off free.
 
Twilight Prime can wait for Human Twilight to come back from an experiment, do what she came here to, and then join Human Twilight to ‘finally make some goddamn friends.’

Yeah, it is. He’ll ask you to wait at a table, and you can either get up from the table, or wait a really long time. Waiting for a long time will cause him to return, and… you know the rest!

Is this actually a thing that happens in the game? (I’m poor, so I haven’t gotten ahold of it yet.) If it isn’t, we can probably just attribute it to Min being cracked.
